I can't remember ever writing out a review for an app, but this does deserve one. The app makes my Bible available at my fingertips on any of my devices, so intuitive and in different versions. No excuse for not reading in the bed, on the road or anywhere I chose to as long as I have any of my devices with me, even if I am offline as pre-downloaded version resides on my device and available offline. There are different reading plans and there are audio versions as well I believe. I personally prefer to read rather than be read to, but I have used it on some instances when I'm in bed and too tired to read and I'll rather just listen as I wind down to sleep. Besides, it will be of immense usefulness to those that are visually challenged in one way or the other.I can keep writing all day about many things I love about this app, but chose not to bore you. The point is that there are no cons or negatives I can think of, and definitely no reason not to get this. Install this on all your devices and use it. Listen to the Word from the source rather than listening to these numerous wolves in sheep clothing so plentiful these days twisting the Word to suit their own agenda and to pad their pockets.I believe in obtaining my information from the primary source, I don't now about you but I think you should too. The Bible is my primary source for the Words of God and that's my ultimate guide and reference point.
The convenience is simply amazing that you can just plug your phone and look up information at will. I really like how you can take notes and highlight what you read and it also keeps a log. I love the fact that I can select different versions of the Bible instantly. For some reason when your phone falls asleep and you open the Bible app again sometimes the app has to reload and loses your place. That iPad version allows me to take notes a little bit better than the iPhone version because it’s not very easy to switch back-and-forth from reading to creating notes on the iPhone version. I hope they address this in the future. I really love the reminder at a specific time each day for the word of the day. They have a new streak feature which counts the days each day you open up the Bible app which is great! However, if you miss one day it resets everything all the way back to day one. Somehow I wish they can use some support system that collects all of your days like you open the Bible and connected with God‘s word 360 times last year and only missed five days. I also like the social aspect of connecting with your friends and family as to what you were reading. However, there doesn’t seem to him much discussion from the social aspect, but maybe that’s me and my friends. Who is I totally recommend downloading this is in free app connecting with God each day. May the Lord bless you.
I’ve never written a review but Ive finally decided to write one for this app and this app only. I’ve clicked on the “do you love this app” so many times and always hit the “remind me late” to review it. However, I heard something in my head say “you will do it today!” I’ve been using this app for years and it never occurred to me that so many people deserves to know just how great this app is. It truly helps me get through my day. Most of the time I feel as though the daily verses are speaking directly to me, and I ask “how does this app know what I’m going thru?” But it’s just the way it works. I believe God has a way to speak to all of us and I truly believe at times he speaks to me through this app, because this app contains his word. Some may call it crazy but I believe it to be true. It is a must have. I like to compare versions, take notes, and highlight verses for memory. I enjoy the plans and options available thru this app and feel that it is necessary when a person can not physically reach for their bible. I also enjoy the fact that when I’m tired and don’t feel like reading, it’s audio version is at your finger tips. This is an awesome app and each morning before I dare to look at anything on my phone I open this app for inspiration seeking the word of God. Thank you to all of those who made this app possible! God bless you all!
From Bible Full Version: The New International Version (NIV) is a completely original translation of the Bible developed by more than one hundred scholars working from the best available Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts. NIV Bible App Free With Audio BibleThe initial vision for the project was provided by a single individual - an engineer working with General Electric in Seattle by the name of Howard Long. Long was a lifelong devotee of the King James Version, but when he shared it with his friends he was distressed to find that it just didn't connect. Long saw the need for a translation that captured the truths he loved in the language that his contemporaries spoke. NIV Bible App FreeFor 10 years, Long and a growing group of like-minded supporters drove this idea. The passion of one man became the passion of a church, and ultimately the passion of a whole group of denominations. And finally, in 1965, after several years of preparatory study, a trans-denominational and international group of scholars met in Palos Heights, Illinois, and agreed to begin work on the project - determining to not simply adapt an existing English version of the Bible but to start from scratch with the best available manuscripts in the original languages. Their conclusion was endorsed by a large number of church leaders who met in Chicago in 1966. A self-governing body of fifteen biblical scholars, the Committee on Bible Translation (CBT) was formed and charged with responsibility for the version, and in 1968 the New York Bible Society (which subsequently became the International Bible Society and then Biblica) generously undertook the financial sponsorship of the project. The translation of each book was assigned to translation teams, each made up of two lead translators, two translation consultants, and a stylistic consultant where necessary. The initial translations produced by these teams were carefully scrutinized and revised by intermediate editorial committees of five biblical scholars to check them against the source texts and assess them for comprehensibility. Each edited text was then submitted to a general committee of eight to twelve members before being distributed to selected outside critics and to all members of the CBT in preparation for a final review. Samples of the translation were tested for clarity and ease of reading with pastors, students, scholars, and lay people across the full breadth of the intended audience. Perhaps no other translation has undergone a more thorough process of review and revision. From the very start, the NIV sought to bring modern Bible readers as close as possible to the experience of the very first Bible readers: providing the best possible blend of transparency to the original documents and comprehension of the original meaning in every verse. With this clarity of focus, however, came the realization that the work of translating the NIV would never be truly complete. As new discoveries were made about the biblical world and its languages, and as the norms of English usage developed and changed over time, the NIV would also need to change to hold true to its original vision NIV Bible Audio App Free. And so in the original NIV charter, provision was made not just to issue periodic updates to the text but also to create a mechanism for constant monitoring of changes in biblical scholarship and English usage. The CBT was charged to meet every year to review, maintain, and strengthen the NIV's ability to accurately and faithfully render God's unchanging Word in modern English Bible NIV. The 2011 update to the NIV is the latest fruit of this process. By working with input from pastors and Bible scholars, the Committee on Bible Translation has updated the text to ensure that the New International Version of the Bible remains faithful to Howard Long's original inspiration.
