I rarely write reviews but I have to for a service that is a BIG part of my life now! If I could give it 10 stars I would. I cannot attest to other locations, but I've used via in Manhattan, LIC/Astoria (Queens), Dumbo/Williamsburg (Brooklyn), and DC area and did not ONE have a bad experience. I've probably used this app at least 50 times by now. The pricing is very smart and beneficial, the pickup locations are genius. I think we'd all rather get someplace faster and walk to a corner than stare at the GPS, painstakingly watching the car struggle to get to our locations only to cancel on us in the end! Via never makes the drivers go through ridiculous, unnecessary turns and I can rely on it to get to work despite NYC traffic. I've had bad experiences with Lyft and Uber and I really believe that every service should be following their model. The prices are always fare and sometimes I get to work with $3 (public transportation is already $2.75) Drivers never have a hard time using their platform. This is seriously the best. I love you Via!!!

I recently broke my leg and have been unable to use the subway. Via is now my preferred mode of transportation to/from work since it is the most affordable in NYC by far (taxi for me is $25 to/from work while Via is $5 sharing and $11 express). The GPS is superior to all other ride sharing apps, as it makes sure the pickup/dropoff of other riders is actually the most direct route for you as well. No need to go out of your way to pickup another passenger and put you back 10 minutes — what a relief! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the biggest problem I’ve noticed is the inaccurate wait time and ETA once you are in the car. My rule of thumb is to basically add 5 minutes for pickup and possibly 5-10 minutes for drop off to the time suggested by the app. Via, this is definitely worth looking into, as I don’t think your app calculates in traffic correctly.
